Our ADA regulated non-emergency medical transport vans are at the centerpiece of our efforts is our fleet of ADA regulated non-emergency medical transport vans. Each ADA regulated non-emergency medical transport vans is built to meet the American Disabilities Act requirements. All vehicles are placed through a rigorous preventative maintenance program all year round by a DOT certified mechanic. The vans are equipped with manual ramps, featuring the latest technology in tie down fasteners, and are fully heated and air conditioned for the utmost safety and convenience for our passengers.
Our Vehicles matter. Sacred Heart Med-Transit only operates ADA regulated non-emergency medical transport vans. We maintain our fleet in accordance with ADA requirements. Each vehicle is inspected regularly by authorized dealers and certified service professional. Each vehicle is inspected, daily, weekly, monthly, and as needed to rule out any defects that could jeopardize our client safety or prompt arrival at destination. We keep our vehicles clean and sanitized to control spread of infection and disease. We use only the safest products to keep our clients safe and comfortable. Our fleets of vehicles are meticulously maintained and regular maintenance procedures are strictly enforced. Our drivers are certified in CPR and American Red Cross basic first aid training. Our vans are equipped with ADA approved ramps. They are equipped with ample heating and air conditioning systems. This mode of transportation is designed for ambulatory and non-ambulatory clients who are able to sit upright in a wheelchair and are unlikely to be in need of medical attention during transport.
We exhibit excellence in everything we do, including developing our staff. Drivers are screened thoroughly to determine if they are compatible with Sacred Heart Med-Transit philosophy. Driving records are reviewed for infractions. In addition, a doctor conducts a physical exam to screen candidates. A supervisor trains the candidate before he or she is allowed to operate a vehicle. Not only are the candidates trained in all crucial safety techniques, but they also to understand the hardship and difficulties that arise for persons that use this service. Drivers are also put on a 90-day, no-fault probationary period. This process allows us to put the right candidate in the driver seats to handle our most delicate customers.
